Our
fresh-milled, whole grain breads have a long shelf life of at least
six to ten days at room temperature. This is usually sufficient
time to eat a loaf of bread.
However, you can keep
our breads fresher and extend shelf life for days, weeks or months
which is
important when you order extra loaves.
Here
are some tips to keep your breads so they last longer and stay
fresher.

When you
store breads on your counter, store them away from heat
and humidity.
Store breads
in their original double bags. Squeeze out air after each
use. Insert into an extra Zip-loc bag to add extra days
of shelf life.
Turn all
bread bag openings the same direction for easy access and
less air flow.

Freeze breads
in their original bags and a plastic bag, such as Zip-loc.
These barriers keep air out and retain moisture inside
the bread since defrost cycles pull moisture out through
thin plastic.
To retain
moisture in the refrigerator, follow above instructions
for freezing breads.

Store
bread unsliced for a longer shelf life due to less exposed
surface. Order breads unsliced if shelf
life
is important.
Storing slliced
breads, on the other hand, may be more convenient as it
pulling individual slices as needed from the freezer.

Order
a variety of bread flavors and store portions of each loaf
on your counter to offer your family flavors
for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Store extra portions
in your freezer to keep them oven fresh for later use.
